About the role:

In this key academic role with a leadership dimension, you will contribute to the academic governance of the school and programs within the school in a range of roles such as National Lecturer, Course Coordinator and Course Advisor. In this role, there will be a focus on teaching and research and will focus on accounting or finance disciplines, including the specific categories Sustainable Finance, Artificial Intelligence in Finance, Corporate Finance, Cryptocurrencies, NFT and ESG.

More specifically, the role consists of:

  • Engage in innovative learning and teaching practices, including online and alternative teaching methods in accounting or finance.
  • Publish in high quality research bodies in accounting or finance and attract research and/or industry funding and supervision of research students as appropriate.
  • Provide academic leadership at the unit and course level, including active engagement in course reviews, development of new course proposals, and accreditation.

You will need to have:

  • A doctorate in accounting or finance.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the mission of the university and the ability to integrate the mission into disciplinary activities with an emphasis on teaching and research.
  • Evidence of innovative, high-quality teaching that builds on reflective practice and the link between teaching and research across all modes of delivery (e.g. face-to-face, online and/or blended) in the field of accounting or finance.
  • A consistent program of quality accounting or finance research with an emphasis on high quality research publications in Australian Business Deans Council A or A* rated journals and/or business research impacting the industry.
  • Experience in program design and undergraduate and postgraduate course development across multiple modes of delivery.

What we offer:

  • Total compensation estimated at $158,015 – $171,555 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component of $133,726 – $145,299 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level C), employer contribution to the retirement pension and the charge for annual leave.
  • 17% employer pension contributions to eligible permanent and fixed-term staff (we offer choice of fund in accordance with applicable law, with the default pension provider designated by the University as UniSuper).
  • Annual leave loading equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks salary pro-rated, based on your start date.
