Since February, 29,500 EY employees have had the company pay for their travel expenses, all dependent care costs and all pet care costs so they can be back in the office. Those refunds totaled $22 million for the year to the end of EY’s fiscal year in July. . Maine’s Times Record writes about the shortage of accountants: “They spread the word out of desperation,” said Trish Brigham, executive director of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants, of the growing number of cities that have struggling to find help with their audits. “’Do you know anyone; do you know someone? There are simply not enough people with the accounting qualifications and skills to meet the demand. Finding talent in finance is becoming increasingly difficult, with 82% of large employers saying they are struggling, according to Deloitte. ICYMI: Last week, the NJCPA hosted a webcast on The CPA Pipeline: Challenges and Opportunities for the Profession.
